Chuck MacMonegle értékelései:
 Ilia, Monday, 15 January 2007
Ilia is more of a fashion doll than an action figure. Mego did this for most of their 12 inch female figures, placing the articulation under the plastic skin.

Ilia will many time come with a blue mark on the top of her head, this is due to the dye from the box insert bleeding on to the bald head. This is almost impossible to remove and while I was able to lighten it, I couldn't get rid of it entirly
Mego Talso, Monday, 01 January 2007
I feel that the Talso is the hardest of the Mego Alien to get in a mint loose condition. This figure is subject to loosing his shoes, his belt will come loose and the collar will crack and split. Since it doesn't command the high price of the Romulan or Andorian and because substitute parts are not available to complete this figure, finding one does pose a challenge.
Mego Romulan, Monday, 01 January 2007
While the Romulan is the prize of any Mego collection and may be the rarest of the Mego's, it is not the hardest to find loose and complete. Due to prices that it receives, it does show up for sale more than other Star Trek Aliens. The problem is finding a mint helmet, as the vacu-plated gold foil will flake off, even on Mint On Card figures.

Many figures can be found with their red weapons set but the buyer should be aware that many of these may have originally been from the Mego Klingon or Gorn, being added to increase the value of an otherwise incomplete figure.
 7Th Season Picard, Thursday, 17 August 2006
The last two days have been like Christmas or at least how I wish Christmas would be. I have received 3 boxes from Rick at NewForce, the "Mirror, Mirror" figures, half of my Stargate order and the Picard/Troi wave. A big thanks to Rick.

The only Star Trek figure I have opened is the Seventh Season Picard, I was very curious to see how he compared with the pervious Picard from Nemesis and Worf and Riker in their seventh season uniforms. Seventh Season Picard is slightly taller than Nemesis Picard and is a more robust figure. His 3/4 profile is dead-on but the full face is a bit too rounded and full. This might be correctable by a bit of shaving of the cheek areas. The Nemesis Picard looks more like Patrick Steward, once you have correct the poor paint job and the too long neck. The 7th Season Picard's head is in a scale that is in keeping with both Worf and Riker and does sit well on this body.

This taller height makes him too tall, when compared to Riker. In the only picture I could find of Picard and Riker together (from "Generations"), Picard come up to Riker's nose, the 7th Season Picard is up to Riker's hairline. As I said before, the 7th Season Picard is too robust, Patrick Steward has a thin frame with almost a straight line from his waist to his shoulders, with little chest development. This does seem to be a trait that AA/DST has been using to enhance their lead figures, I remember the same comment being made about AA's Kirk.

The other small item that I found is that 7th Season Picard's left leg is longer than his right, so in order to pose him standing straight you need to place the left leg slightly in front of the right, with the knee slightly bent. As with Riker, Picard has a arthritic left index finger, not sure if this was to accommodate him holding one of the accessories but by itself, it looks a bit strange.

The articulation is is standard with ball joint neck and shoulder, cut bicep, hinged elbow, rotatible wrist, waist, hips, hinged knees and ankles. I do find that I miss the rotatible ankle ot thigh.

Overall this is a nice figure and from some of the customs that I have seen on the AA board, could easily be converted in to the 1st/2nd season uniforms with little trouble.

The only problem will be to get a good Nemesis Picard, that fits in with Nemesis Worf, Riker and Troi (Troi's hairstyle will have to be changed) you will have to do a head and hand swap with Geordi, when he becomes available.
SDCC Marlena, Friday, 28 July 2006
The figure is very nice but slightly below DST normal quality, mold lines, both raised and depressed, are distinctly visible on both arms and while this would not be as much of an issue on an uniform part, they do stand out on matt flesh and they are much more visible than on their Vina. The head seems a little big for the body but not overly so, the same issue as with their Dax figure and is a result of reusing a Uhura's body for different characters.

These are really nitpicking points, the figure is a great addition to they Star Trek line. The use of gloss paint to highlite the eyes and lips adds a nice touch, the high gloss black for the boots makes them really stand out. The skirt is molded in a very flexible plastic, not as stiff as the T&T Dax but not as flexible as Vina dress, which allows DST to provide a more rounded appearance to the figure when viewed in profile and DST has returned to having the panties match the uniform color. The stance is a bit closer together than on the original Uhura and T&T Dax. This may contribute to the figure being a tiny bit taller than the original release Uhura figure. The high top boots, while appropriate for the character, do result in the loss of the calf/shin point of articulation. Marlena only comes with a phaser and communicator, I would have preferred a dagger with the appropriate boot holder or an agonizer. The paint app's are good, with only a tiny spot of bleed on the back side between the top and midriff.

All in all a great sculpt and a nice addition to DST's Star Trek line of figures
