New images have given customers a glimpse of a new Derbion toy store ahead of its opening this weekend. Toy Planet will open its new store on the ground floor of the City Mall at 9am on Saturday, April 30.
The local independent retailer is moving into a new unit, located next to KRCS and Trespass, which is twice the size of its old store. The old branch, located next to Starbucks on the same floor, has now closed as stock moves to the new outlet, which will add more than 1,200 square feet to its footprint.
The award-winning toy retailer will host several costumed characters on opening day, including Pikachu from Pokémon, Baby JJ from Cocomelon and Blue from Blues Clues. All the characters will appear at different times between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and there will also be photo opportunities with life-size Lego statues.
