Accreditation Seal of approval. This is the first year that the Toy Association has offered this important accreditation in partnership with the Dr. Gummer’s Good Play Guide.

The new accreditation program founded by the Toy Association in partnership with Dr. Gummer’s Good Play Guide is open to all brands involved in the production, design and marketing of STEAM products for children. Previously, the focus was on STEM, which stood for science, technology, engineering, and math, but the Toy Association also wanted to highlight the growing movement which included an additional focus on the arts. As a result, STEAM Toy accreditation was created.
To receive this accreditation, a toy must have clear relevance to the real world and offer practical use while allowing children to participate actively and independently in the learning experience. Additionally, the toy should encourage children to tap into their imaginative skills to help with both creative thinking and logic.
